Infrastructure Tech Spending Goes to Broadband, Clean Energy

(Bloomberg Businessweek) —

Money from the enormous U.S. infrastructure spending law passed last year will really begin rolling out in 2022, and will continue coming for years. While a lot of investment is earmarked for maintaining and improving roads and bridges, delivering clean water, and dealing with climate change, one of the biggest chunks is dedicated to improving the country’s broadband networks. Other technology projects—electrifying buses, beefing up cybersecurity software, upgrading utilities, and developing new clean energy sources—are also in line to receive billions in funding.
